Thanks for an excellent summary of the 2008 crisis. I'm not sure that I'd call Lehman Brothers an example of the Mandela effect, though. The 2008 collapse was so complicated and the causes so abstract, that not many people understand it, and even fewer (you excluded :) remember it. To call the Lehman collapse the cause of the financial implosion is, I think, more like a simplification, or in some cases, lazy writing.
